Support:
EDL Ease is code signed and Notarized by Apple. Allow apps from Identified Developers if prompted on first run. If you would like to report a problem or a bug please do send me an email. If it does not function in your workflow I'd like to know and will include fixes or features for future updates.
Known Issues:
Not really an issue but should be noted: EDL Ease prefers source and clip names in your workflow to follow ISO and other common naming conventions. Spaces, underscores, dashes and periods are the preferred characters in a file name.
Other characters should be avoided when naming media files. These are reserved and mean different things to different operating systems and can interfere with parsing the data correctly.
/ \ " ' , * ; ? [ ] ( ) ~ ! $ { } <> = + # @ &
Example of compliant filenames:
video_file_33246-46353_v2.mov video.file.33246.46353_v2.mov video file 33246 46353 v2.mov
Don't do this. It's a bad workflow and a bad practice overall. EDL Ease may yield undesirable behaviors when converting EDLs that use non-compliant media names.
Donations Gladly Accepted:
I have received emails from users of EDL Ease asking if they can donate. That is an amazing gesture and I take that as confirmation this thing really works for a lot of people in a big way. If you use EDL Ease and it saved you hours or days of tedious work and feel compelled to donate; send whatever you think this is worth to fund future development. Or you can just pass on my website to professional productions that may need rights and clearances research and administration and of course EDL conversion.
